Dr. Mohammad M. Binsarhan

Assistant Professor and Chair of the Marine Biology Department at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. He holds a PhD in Marine Biology from the University of Barcelona and conducted his doctoral research at the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC) in Spain. His research applies metagenomics, bioinformatics, and microbiome analysis to investigate marine microbial communities and their interactions with coral hosts. His work focuses particularly on how environmental stressors, including ocean warming and depth-related changes, influence coral-associated microbiomes, coral health, and ecosystem resilience. Through international research collaborations, Dr. Binsarhan contributes to advancing holo-omics approaches in coral research and translating microbial community data into a better understanding of marine ecosystem responses to environmental change.
