Dr. Amal Khalaf Alghamdi

An Assistant Professor of Microbiology specializing in microbiome analysis and metagenomics. Her research includes isolating microbial strains from mangrove root compartments and adjacent soils in a Red Sea mangrove ecosystem, with top-performing isolates enhancing rice resilience under both non-saline and saline conditions. She aims to elucidate environmental microbiome functions to support the targeted selection of beneficial microorganisms that improve crop yield and advance One Health initiatives.
