Honorary Professor in Clinical Infectious Diseases at King's College London and a Consultant Microbiologist at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He is also the Director of the Centre for Clinical Infection and Diagnostics Research (CIDR) and leads the clinical microbiology and infection consult service for critical care, including the nationally commissioned extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) service.
